Well Yesterday (February 7th) we had our first appointment with our midwife at Allen OBGYN. It went very well. She was very nice. Nothing to exciting happened. Just some lab work and a pelvic exam. I feel very comfortable with their midwife program. They do an on call rotation between the 3 of them so we will get to be familiar with all 3, that way we will definitely know who will be with us on the big day which is a huge relief to me.
We went over some of the pregnancy education aka the big lists of foods/ medicines/ activities that I can’t do. We also scheduled our next appointment, at which WE WILL GET TO HEAR OUR LITTLE ESPRESSO BEANS HEART BEAT!!! Oh, and we just got some general questions answered. Jon was very supportive, he even stayed with me for the pelvic exam, which obviously made him feel awkward, he is such a trooper. The midwife did change our expected delivery date by one day to September 21st, 2013
I also started our baby website, http://stuelkeandhernandezbaby.ourbabychannel.com/
as our pregnancy progresses I will be updating that as well.
*weight: 141 lbs (My midwife said not to worry, most of it is because of the bloating and it will go down again in a few weeks and then the actual baby weight will start, which I will be fine with. For my age and height my range will be 15-25 lbs gained)
*bloated/ “backed up”
*sore/ tender chest
*still very thirsty for water
*stomach soreness, I feel like I have done a bunch of crunches, which I haven’t but that’s the only thing I can compare it too.
*intense nausea, but no throwing up thank God.
*None. Just bloated and feeling fat. And yes, I have broken down and cried about it and again Jon was a trooper, he was very supportive.
I don’t really have an appetite like my stomach doesn’t feel hungry and when I think of eating I feel sick. Then I’ll eat a little something and feel alright for a few minutes and then sick again. It’s been miserable. But there have only been a few things that I couldn’t eat because they made me feel horrible, Godfather’s Pizza and my Juan of the Dead burger from Zombie Burger. (Jon’s birthday was on the 6th so we went to Des Moines to one of his favorite restaurants with some friends).
Things that I miss:
Not feeling sick all the time. Being “regular”.
March 7th at 11 am- Allen Hospital OBGYN
We will finally get to hear our beebee’s heartbeat!
Working on a few small baby projects together. Not sure yet, I really haven’t had any energy at all lately. My dad brought the cradle over so we now have that in our room. I wan’t to get that all set up within the next month. (My dad made this cradle and a matching Rocking Lion)
What we are looking forward to:
Well obviously our appointment
personally I can’t wait to be done with the first trimester! Everyone says it can be the most difficult.
